Amtek first acquired progressive cold forging technology for the manufacture of HDD (hard disk drive),electronics and electrical components in 1997.cold forged progressive stamping allows material properties to be enhanced, giving metals greater product strength and structural stability as compared to conventional stamping .through an extensive R&D program, we were able to achieve 3D net-shaped complexities with minimum secondary processes and significantly reduced material wastage.
Amtek has since initiated an R&D program to apply this technology to the requirements of the automotive industry. Amtek Metalforming (Shanghai).Ltd(AMS),Will be focused on using cutting edge forming technologies to complement 3D complex forming ,net-shape cold forging, heat-treatment, plating and mechanical Sub-assembly for the manufacture of automotive Components.
A state-of-the art facility is being built in Nanhui , Shanghai. When ready in2005,this facility will be entirely dedicated to the production of automotive components. Meanwhile, we are currently forming high precision automotive components, including brake systems, door lock mechanisms, steering system and motor assemblies from our ISO/TS 16949 certified plant in Shanghai.
