ABB Lummus Global Inc. (Lummus), a wholly owned subsidiary of ABB\'s Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals Group founded in 1907, is a leading international engineering and construction company serving the process industry.
With over 6,000 professionals in 12 operating centers and subsidiaries worldwide, Lummus has been providing a broad range of proprietary process technologies, engineering, procurement, and construction services to the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, Chemicals, and Power Industries, and has completed more than 6,200 major projects in 70 countries, establishing many world records with innovative ways to successfully complete our clients\' projects on time and within budget.
Since the early 70\'s, Lummus has distinguished itself in China as one of the pioneer Western contractors contributing to the modernization of the Chinese petrochemical industry. The first world-scale ethylene plant built in China was based on Lummus technology, so are approximately 60% of the ethylene and 60% of the styrene produced in China. Furthermore, Lummus has been instrumental in the development of many major Chinese petrochemical complexes such as Beijing Yanshan, Yangzi, and Qilu, as well as regional companies like Shanghai Petrochemical, Dushanzi Petrochemical, and Panjin.
In recent years, Lummus has been awarded Ethylene and EB/SM projects by the BP/SPC JV, and selected for providing licensed technology of Ethylene and Polypropylene for the Fujian Integrated Petrochemical Complex. Meanwhile Lummus is actively pursuing JV or wholly owned foreign project opportunities, including technology, Engineering/Procurement/Construction(EPC), and Project Management Contracting (PMC). In addition to project activities, Lummus has developed extensive cooperative relationships with Chinese industries.
Currently, Lummus has a full service operation office in Beijing, and a branch office in Shanghai structured as a Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise (WOFE).
