BJ Services Company was established in 1872 when its founder,Byron Jackson(hence the company is named BJ),invented centrifugal pump and submersible pump for the agricultural irrigation applications.The cementing services of BJ company started in 1929 and the acidizing services in 1932.For 130 years,the company has evolved into one of the largest pressure pumping service companies in the world,providing cementing,fracturing,acidizing,sand control,completion tools,completion fluids,coiled tubing and other oilfield related services.In the last decade the company has merged and acquired several internationally renowned oilfield service companies,among which are The Western Company of North America,a well-known company among the Chinese oil and gas industry,Nowsco Well Services Ltd.,the largest oilfield service company in Canada,Canadian Fracmaster Ltd.,the second largest service company in Canada and OSCA Inc.,a very famous down hole completion tools company in the States.Because of BJ\'s focus in pressure pumping,high investment in research and development,high quality service and highly trained personnel,BJ has been able to maintain the 1/3 strong of the world market share in cementing,fracturing, acidizing,sand control,completion tools,completion fluids,and coiled tubing services.On an annual basis,BJ does about 50,000 cement jobs alone and about 30,000 frac and acid jobs.In addition to its superior services,BJ\'s equipment is world class too,among which the offshore operating vessels and coil tubing units rank the first in the world in terms of their quality and quantity.Now BJ has about 12,000 employees working in more than 50 countries.Its headquarters is located in Houston,USA.
