Cerbex (China Europe Reservations and Bookings Exchange) sells hotel rooms in Europe to outbound travel agencies in China, using a purpose built web-platform.
From September 2004 Chinese citizens traveling into the EU are able to get a visa much more easily. This has given a major boost to Chinese tourism to Europe. Our aim is to help Chinese travel agencies cater for this growing market by offering them a reliable and quick self-help reservations system, giving them access to a broad pan European hotel assortment. We have begun operations in May 2004 and are located in Beijing.
Travel agents in China get password-protected access to our system, which they use to scan for rates and availability and make reservations. We buy rooms at net rates from the hotel and sell them with a mark-up to the travel agencies in China that in turn mark them up or bundle them into a travel package, and sell them to the actual traveler. Since the beginning of operations Cerbex experiences a continual growth, to fulfill our high standard of service level, we are looking for new people. Currently Cerbex consists of 17 employees in China, 4 in South Africa and 3 in Europe. At this moment the team in our Beijing office needs to be increased with 4 young, enthusiastic and highly motivated people.
