A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO CMCS
COSTACO PUBLIC MARINE & CARGO SURVEY (BEIJING) LIMITED (hereinafter called CMCS for short), is a third-party survey and inspection organization approved and recognized by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of PRC, with independent legal status. Its headquarters is located in Beijing and presently has four branches in the major Chinese ports, Shanghai, Tianjin, Nanjing and Zhuhai. The business of CMCS covers the following aspects: entrusted inspection and survey activities on the quality, specification, quantity, weight, packing, damage, value and shipping conditions of the inward/outward cargoes, on ascertaining the cargo-worthiness of vessels\'cargo holds and containers, on containerized cargo inspection and pre-shipment cargo inspection, on supervising cargo loading on and discharging from the vessels, on vessels\'and containers\'on-hire/off hire inspections, and on properties assessment for imports and exports, as well as the other related survey and inspection activities.
CMCS owns a team of qualified professionals and experienced marine and cargo experts specializing in this field, and with good knowledge of trade, shipping, Customs, insurance and other businesses in relation to the marine and cargo surveying and inspection. CMCS also has maintained close business relationships with the port authorities, terminals, shipping companies, shipping agencies, freight forwarders, shippers and consignees and the insurance companies. Especially, CMCS has the advantages and abundant experiences on supervising loading and discharging, pre-survey appointed by insurers, container cargo inspection, draft surveying etc. and is able to render our clients high-quality services. China Ocean Shipping Tally Company (COSTACO) is the major investor of CMCS, and is an important state-owned backbone enterprise, mainly engaging in shipping tally activities. Its main business covers cargo tally activities on vessels sailing on international and domestic routes, container tally activities for international and domestic containers, container cargo stuffing/un-stuffing tally activities etc. COSTACO has set up more than 80 subsidiaries throughout the country, and established a relatively perfect information platform, and therefore is able to provide timely and effectively cargo information.
