上海赛科石油化工有限责任公司是由中国石油化工股份有限公司、中国石化上海石油化工股份有限公司和bp华东投资有限公司分别按 30%、20%、50%的比例出资组建的，总投资额约27亿美元，是目前国内最大的中外合资石化项目之一。
上海赛科建有8套主要生产装置，具有世界级上下游一体化的特点，体现了规模经济效应。其中，90万吨/年乙烯是目前世界上单线产能最大的乙烯装置之一，其余的7套装置也均达到世界规模，分别为：60万吨/年聚乙烯装置、50万吨/年苯乙烯装置、50万吨/年芳烃抽提装置、30万吨/年聚苯乙烯装置、26万吨/年丙烯腈装置、25万吨/年聚丙烯装置和9万吨/年丁二烯装置。
赛科采用世界上最先进的工艺技术，生产乙烯、丙烯、聚乙烯、聚丙烯、苯乙烯、聚苯乙烯、丙烯腈、丁二烯、苯、甲苯及副产品等，每年可向市场提供国内紧缺的高质量、多规格、宽覆盖面的石化产品228万吨。赛科建立完善的qa/qc体系，提供相关的售后服务及技术咨询，从事聚合物应用开发。

having 8 main production plants, shanghai secco is featured with world-class integration of upstream and downstream, generating the benefits of scale economy. the 900 ktpa ethylene plant is by far one of the one-piece facilities that have the highest production capacity in the world. the other 7 plants having all reached world scale include: 600 ktpa polyethylene plant, 500 ktpa styrene plant, 500 ktpa aromatic extraction unit, 300 ktpa polystyrene plant, 260 ktpa acrylonitrile plant and 250 ktpa polypropylene plant and 90 ktpa butadiene plant.
