Beijing Playhouse
Sponsored in part by the US Embassy, Beijing Playhouse (www.beijingplayhouse.com), China\'s English Broadway theatre, presents such family friendly shows as the Broadway musicals Guys and Dolls and Oklahoma! comedies The Odd Couple, You Can\'t Take It With You, Love, Sex and the IRS, and annual productions of Christmas musical comedies like Cinderella, Snow White or Charles Dickens\' heartwarming holiday classic A Christmas Carol. As the largest locally produced English theatre in China, we are constantly pushing the envelope of what can be accomplished in China. It\'s always an exciting place to be-and frequently a frustrating one, too. We are the first and only legally recognized English theatre in Beijing. We have had amazing accomplishments since being established in 2006. As of this December\'s opening of our 2012 Christmas show Snow White, Beijing Playhouse has the support of the English speaking Beijing community-including both of the major English language magazines. Three of our past shows were sponsored by the US Embassy. British School of Beijing has committed to sponsoring the next four years worth of Christmas shows. Our kids\' theatre camps have become fixtures in China.
