Since Middle Ages， wine was one of the major products of this area which soon became renowned not only within Italy but also all over the world. The area was traditionally owned by priests who used to plant grapes and were the very first producers and developers of different kinds of wines; among them the most appreciated one was with no doubt the worldwide renowned Chianti. At the second half of the 19 century, the priests, overwhelmed with debts, sold the land to differentPrivate families, which in year 1961 decided to form a consortium in order to keep on with the tradition of producing high quality wines in the area, hence the company Valdarno Superiore came into being. In the recent years many vineyard owners and wine producers joined the association, turning it into one of the most excellent wine business groups in the Arno Valley. Here grapes are still handpicked by our wine experts, in a process that involves both traditional and modern oenological techniques.In the latest years Valdarno Superiore has started to export its prestigious wines to Europe and then all over the world. Since 2009 the company has carefully selected a serious of fine wines to meet the needs of Chinese market for Italian wines.
