Education New Zealand (ENZ) was established in late 2011 to be the lead agency for the promotion and representation of New Zealand education around the world.
We are looking for 3 Market Development Managers to join our team, based at the New Zealand Embassy/Consulate in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou and reporting to the Regional Director: China who is based in Beijing. The positions are classed as local, not seconded, positions.
Working as part of a collaborative team, your role will be to identify and develop opportunities for New Zealand education service providers in line with ENZ’s strategic plan.
This role will draw on your ability to build strong working relationships across an international organisation, along with external stakeholders. You will be called upon to support and implement ENZ’s vision, providing constructive, strategic advice.
To be successful you will have:
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, events and projects, and intensive workloads
• Ability to operate collaboratively, and with a high degree of autonomy.
• Business development experience with particular emphasis on working in international and commercial environments
• Demonstrated ability to network, build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and with people from diverse backgrounds
• Working knowledge of the New Zealand and Chinese education systems; and of how to “do business” in China, both at the government and business level
• Research related experience in business or marketing
• Written and oral fluency in English and Chinese Mandarin (additional requirement of Cantonese for the Guangzhou position)
• A demonstrated commitment to the provision of quality services
• Relevant Bachelor level qualification.
• Met all requirements for legally living and working in China.
The position is likely to be travel-intensive. Flexibility to travel is also required.
