2003年，日立环球存储科技公司在中国深圳这一片热土上生根发芽。作为IBM和日立两间公司存储科技业务策略性合并的结果，日立环球存储科技公司继承了IBM与日立誉满全球的研究开发技术并将其超过80年的硬盘专业技术发扬光大。在中国，日立环球存储科技公司在深圳开设了深圳海量存储设备有限公司、日立环球存储科技（深圳）有限公司及日立环球存储产品（深圳）有限公司。
代表着总投资高达5亿美元的“超级硬盘生产中心”项目，日立环球存储产品（深圳）有限公司成立于2004年7月，是日立环球存储科技旗下最年轻的公司，同时也是日立环球存储科技大中华区运营基地，在中国拥有地区总部、集中化运营与服务、日立设计中心、生产以及客户服务与支持7个机构。
公司位于中国深圳东北部的出口加工区，总占地面积20万平方米，一期厂房面积超过6万平方米，可容纳近7000名员工，拥有世界先进的生产厂房和办公设施供不间断生产。

In 2003, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) was founded as a result of the strategic combination of IBM and Hitachi Ltd.’s hard disk drive businesses. The company will extend the world-renowned research and development heritage of its founders and build on their combined 80 years of hard disk drive expertise. In China, Hitachi GST has 3 facilities in Shenzhen, Shenzhen Hailiang Storage Products Co., Ltd (HSPC), Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd and Hitachi Global Storage Products (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.
Representing the strategy of hard disk drive “MegaManufacturingCenter”, Hitachi Global Storage Products (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd was founded in July 2004, with a total investment of 500 million USD. It is Hitachi GST’s youngest company. Moreover, Hitachi GSP is Hitachi GST’s Greater China operations base with 7 locations supporting regional headquarters, shared services, our Hitachi design studio, manufacturing, and service & support.
Hitachi GSP is located in Shenzhen Export Processing Zone, which lies in northeast of Shenzhen, China. Its land area is 200,000m2 with more than 60,000m2 working space in phase one. The world-class manufacturing and office facilities could support nearly 7000 employees for non-stop production.
