Amesbury is a Division of Lupus Capital, Lupus Capital located in London, England. Laird acquired Amesbury Industries, Inc. (located in Amesbury, Massachusetts) in 1981.
In 1993, Amesbury Industries became known as Amesbury Group.
BSI-Balance Systems was acquired by Amesbury, and provides a block & tackle balance that fits into the jamb-liner for single and double hung windows. BSI was founded in 1975 and is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In 1998, BSI-Balance Systems established a plant in Statesville, NC to help with our East Coast market. BSI Statesville is dedicated to supplying a \"one stop shop\" of components for windows and door. Also, in 1998, BSI acquired JW Window Components in Sioux Falls, SD; Merrill, WI; and Elizabethton, TN.
Balance UK, a spiral balance manufacturer in Martock, Somerset in the United Kingdom, was also acquired by the Amesbury in March of 2006. Balance UK will become part of BSI-Balance Systems management team, and offers additional types of window balances to the already impressive block & tackle and constant force balance line-up currently offered by BSI.
In April of 2007, Lupus Capital finalized the acquisition of the Laird Securities Divisions, which includes US based Amesbury. Amesbury complements Lupus Capital\'s existing Schlegel Building Products US activities and additionally offers a potential for selling Amesbury through Schlegel\'s extensive international distribution network.
