Our new Engineering Centre in Beijing will create more than 200 career opportunities for Chinese engineers.
With a major presence in Beijing for 15 years, a multi-national workforce and 16 customer service offices across the country, Airbus is further increasing its investment in China. In 2004, Airbus reached an agreement on subcontracting projects worth $100 million to Chinese manufacturers. Working with Chinese partners, Airbus also opened the JV Training Centre, a fully operational $80 million plus training and support centre that is the first of its kind in China.
Now Airbus is creating an Engineering Centre in Beijing - a new joint venture that further demonstrates Airbus\' commitment to the long term development of China\'s aviation industry. Working in close co-operation with the Airbus Centres of Excellence in Europe, the Engineering Centre will perform 5% of the design work for the Airbus A350 and 10% of future aircraft design.
