with increasing economic trade between china and australia, china has now become the second largest trade partner for australia. china post and australia post have kept in contact with each other with a long history of business cooperation between both sides. at the end of 2003, during a visit by the managing director of australia post to china, both parties found common ground in the business targets, commercial model and target market of logistics. both parties showed great interest in making use of their own operational capability to jointly provide international logistics services between china and australia for their customers. as a result of this meeting, china post and australia post decided to establish a logistics cooperation partnership and set up a joint venture business in china to provide one stop logistics and supply chain management services including hub operations, transportation, value added services and international forwarding agency services.
