Lorentzen & Wettre has been operating in China for more than 20 years. The company is now increasing the customer services and is opening a sales and service company in Shanghai. The new company has started with eight employees and offered a complete range of products and training, as well as service and support.
Lorentzen & Wettre with head office in Stockholm, Sweden, continues to grow. Following a very expansive year 2004, when the company opened a subsidiary in Japan and made a record year in terms of order intake, the group continues their expansion in the East.

With more than 3000 paper mills and an annual production of 33 million tons of paper, China has overtaken Japan and is now the world\'s next largest paper manufacturer after the USA. Increased competition and the downward pressure on prices mean that the Chinese paper industry is about to face heavy rationalization. To meet these challenges investments in quality control systems will be needed.
\"We have noticed a large increase in the demand for our products and services in China. In particular products for the optimization of the press section but also fully automatic measuring systems which determine the quality of paper\", says Patrik Stolpe.
