ICDL at a glance
The International Computer Driving LicenceTM (ICDL) is a globally recognised qualification that promotes digital literacy by enabling people to demonstrate their skills in basic day-to-day computer applications.
ICDL is available in 150 countries, testing in 40 languages and covers more than 6 million candidates around the globe. ICDL is endorsed by various global organisations such as the United Nations, the European Union and multi-national corporations such as British Petroleum, Nokia, and many others.
The European Computer Driving Licence Foundation (ECDL-F, www.ecdl.com), the worldwide governing body and licensing authority of the ICDL programme, is a non-profit organisation based in Dublin, Ireland.
ICDL in China
ICDL China was officially appointed as the National Licensee of the ICDL programme in the mainland China in 2006. Based in Beijing, ICDL China is committed to marketing the ICDL concept and programme and fostering the development of the Information Society throughout the country.
