Swedbank is upgrading its representative office in Shanghai, China to a branch with the brand name of \"Swedbank Shanghai\".The branch shall be up and running at the end of Q1 or early Q2 2007, primarily providing corporate banking services (cash management, corporate lending, trade finance, treasury services, etc) to Nordic, Baltic and Russian corporate customers operating in China. The same service will also be available to Chinese companies with trade with the above countries.Companies increasingly require professional support from an active and financially strong partner with a presence outside Swedbank\'s domestic markets;the Shanghai branch is thus a natural step in Swedbank\'s focus on the corporate market.
To be successful, you need to have sales/marketing skills and be able to discuss and negotiate loan structures, terms and conditions with corporate customers and to prepare credit applications. The base for such a proposal is a thorough analysis of the company and its need for banking services i.e.payments, cash management, financing and deposits. Consultation with expertise both in- and outside the Bank is often required during this process.
