Groupe Bernard Hayot (www.gbh.fr) is an international group, specialized in car import and distribution.
Created in 1960 by Mr. Bernard HAYOT, the group develops very fast in industrial activities (Food, building materials) and import of brand products. In the 80s, the group started what became its main activities:Hyper markets and supermarket distribution (Food and others) and automotive distribution. Today, GBH spends most of its resources in developing those two fields.
For the car distribution, GBH is the exclusive importer and distributor of Renault, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Audi, Mitsubishi, Nissan...and many other European, Japanese and American brands. We own our own distribution network in our markets. The group also owns many car renting companies in the Caribbean. (Europcar, ADA...). Nowadays, we also export cars of Chinese brands to our subsidiaries in Morocco, Trinidad & Tobago, Dominican Republic and Algeria.
Regarding the supermarket distribution, the group owns and manages 5 Carrefour Hyper-markets. GBH also owns 9 Mr Bricolage. (French Do-It-Yourself franchise).
We also produce Rum and distribute many brands. (Danone, Mars, Yves Rocher...)
GBH opened its Shanghai Representative Office in 2005. The purpose is to enable GBH to be closer to its suppliers and to help coordinate the exchanges between China and the different branches that belong to GBH.
