June 20, 2007 - NILIT, with a dominant position in the global market for the production of nylon 6.6 polyamide fibers and polymers, signed an agreement with the Rueb family to acquire FRISETTA Polymer in Utzenfeld and its subsidiary Recom, in Wehr - both in Germany.
FRISETTA Polymer has been a family-run company since 1949, located in Sch？nau /Black Forest, in the south west of Germany. The company has been producing technical granulate compounds in Nylon 6 & 6.6 with a large range of special grades and colours for over 50 years now.
FRISETTA Polymer, sold more than 20.100 Mt of Nylon 6 & 6.6 in 2006, had a turnover of more than Euro 60 million with export activities of 25%. An investment in a new modern plant was made in 2003 to increase our capacity of production in the coming future to 40.000 tons with high tech double screw extruders.
FRISETTA Polymer is producing a large range of special compounds (flame retardant, high impact modified, glass and bead fibres reinforced, heat and hydrolysis resistant grades...). FRISETTA Polymer is one of the worldwide suppliers of flame retardant V2 and V0 Nylon 6 & 6.6, which are homologated by UL Laboratory in USA. More than 50% of our production is based on this material and used by the electronic- and electrical Industry for special applications (cable glands, terminal blocs, sockets...) which are parts of the industrial and household equipment.
FRISETTA Polymer is also developing new projects with the automotive Industry for technical solutions for many special applications (car handles for galvanising, safety belt bottoms, cable channels, water tanks…). Moreover, some compounds from our company, which after irradiation become cross-linked, display significantly improved heat deformation properties with some applications for engine parts. Moreover, the FRISETTA Company has started a nylon recycling process in a new factory to respond to the environment expectations from the automotive Industry.
