上海市国际股权投资基金协会成立于2004年4月7日，原名上海市外国直接投资基金协会，2008年7月24日经上海市社团管理局批准更名为上海市国际股权投资基金协会。协会是由境内外股权投资基金及其管理机构、境内外投资公司、相关专业服务机构和专业人士及投资促进机构组成的非盈利性社会团体。协会的会员拥有非常丰富的股权投资经验，成功投资于信息技术、新传媒、生物科技、新能源以及制造业等领域，协会会员投资成功的案例包括百度、尚德电力、如家、分众传媒、携程、阿里巴巴等优秀企业。
协会的目标是为股权投资基金及其管理机构提供服务，促进股权投资在上海和长三角的发展，成为本地区具有认知度和影响力的股权投资基金协会。协会的主要功能包括：
-组织股权投资基金—项目股权投资基金投资人对接活动；
-举办股权投资国际论坛和研讨会；
-举办股权投资领域的培训；
-发布股权投资行业信息和研究报告。

Shanghai Private Equity Association (“SHPEA”), formerly Shanghai Foreign Direct Investment Fund Association, was established on 7th April, 2004. The association is a non-profit organization founded by international private equity investment funds and their managing institutions, international investment companies, relevant professional service providers and investment promotion organizations. The Association\'s member firms have long and rich experience in private equity and venture capital investing worldwide and have invested many successful projects in a variety of industries in China, including information technology, TMT, biotechnology, alternative energy, and manufacturing. Examples of successful public listed companies invested by our member firms include Baidu.com, Suntech Power, HomeInn, Focus Media, Ctrip, and Alibaba.com.
SHPEA’s mission is to provide sophisticated services to private equity investment funds and their managing institutions, to facilitate private equity’s development in Shanghai as well as in Yangtze Delta, and to become a leading association in private equity industry in the region. The Association’s main scope of activities include:
-facilitating deal sourcing, matchmaking and fund raising;
-Hosting international forum, seminars and workshops on private equity investment;
-Organizing the training in the area of private equity investment;
-Releasing information and research report on private equity investment.
SHPEA’s membership is open to all private equity investment funds (companies), institution investors and professional service organizations who are interested in private equity investment in Shanghai.
