Earlier this year Edwards announced plans to construct a new manufacturing facility in Qingdao to produce sophisticated high vacuum pumps, mainly for the Chinese market. Total investment for this project is around $40m with factory fixed assets investment of $17m. Its intended that the new factory at Qingdao will become the exclusive global manufacturing centre for some of Edwards’s industrial products and development and technical support for these products will be established in Qingdao.
It’s expected that operations will be established from 2014. Consequently, Edwards are now starting recruiting for a number of key positions in support of establishing its presence in Qingdao.
