Due to the differences between the education systems, the Chinese students found the direct move from a Chinese high schol system to an Anglophone University is exceedingly difficult. Language learning and cultural differences in educational systems make it challenging for a Chinese high school graduate to do well if s/he has not been exposed to foreign language content instruction at home. An appreciation of these problems by Chinese parents has led to a growing demand for offering an internationally recognized curriculum (A level and IGCSE) for Chinese high school student’s intent on continuing their education overseas. Shanghai Guanghua College Fudan Campus (SGC Fudan, www.ghedu.com/fd/en) has taken a key role in offering this academic alternative. SGC Fudan is hosted by one of the top ranked high schools in Shanghai - the high school affiliated to Fudan University. Our campus is adjacent to Fudan University and is conveniently located within a 5-minute walk of the Line 10 GuoQuan Lu subway stop in YangPu district, giving it easy access to all areas of the city. Our school has clean and modern facilities, with every classroom equipped with a projector, whiteboard, and two cooling/heating units, as well as wifi access throughout the building. The reason we have been able to create an orderly environment in our young school is that most of the staff worked together in another A-Level center, and we have brought over our expertise and teamwork. We feel very proud of the working and learning environment we have created together, and we are looking for people who will blend naturally into our team. Our foreign teachers come from a variety of countries, making this a truly diverse community. The management consults staff about policy decisions, so that everybody has a part in shaping the school.
