Microsoft China Research and Development Group
The China Research and Development Group (CRD) was established in January 2006. CRD will serve as an umbrella organization unifying and coordinating all Microsoft research and development efforts in China.
R&D facilities falling under the new umbrella include MSR Asia, Advanced Technology Center, Windows Live China, Windows Live Mobile, China Technology Center, Server and Tools Business (China), Microsoft Asia Center for Hardware, BG Product Groups, Strategic Partnership Group, and Operations Group in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
CRD will continue the current development efforts, with a particular focus on enhancing the three areas of: Internet technologies and services, mobile and embedded systems and digital entertainment.
The group will also work to strengthen existing research and development activities, foster closer partnership with Chinese software companies, and pave the way for future investments.
