International sealing engineering business James Walker is set to trade under its own name in the world’s fastest growing industrial market following the granting of the necessary licences by the Chinese government.
Operational from March 1st 2012, the new business is headquartered in Shanghai and operate under the name of James Walker (Shanghai) Sealing Technology Ltd.
James Walker products and services have until now been available in China through a number of distribution channels, the largest of which is Shanghai Winner Engineering Ltd (“SWEL”). This new company, which has been created through a joint venture partnership between James Walker Sealing Products and Services Ltd (“JWSPS”) and the owner of SWEL, Mr James Liu, will strengthen the James Walker brand in China and allow the company to provide improved levels of technical support and customer service – particularly in key markets such as power generation, iron and steel manufacturing, renewable energy and pharmaceuticals.
The launch of a new James Walker business in China is the third new international expansion from the privately owned James Walker Group in their sealing products and services activities in the last 12 months, with new companies also launched in Brazil and India. James Walker Brasil is already making inroads into the South American oil & gas, metallurgical and power generation markets, whilst in India production of high performance compression packing products has commenced in a purpose-built, state of the art manufacturing facility.
The launch of James Walker (Shanghai) Sealing Technology Ltd, will see the James Walker Group grow to include over 50 production, engineering, distribution and customer support locations worldwide as the business continues to develop a regional hub and local support structure to back up its global expansion.
