WELLINGTON COLLEGE INTERNATIONAL SHANGHAI Opening in August 2014, Wellington College International Shanghai will be the second international school opened by Wellington College, United Kingdom. The first one is Wellington College International Tianjin, which opened in August 2011. Wellington College International Shanghai will provide the same high standards of excellence and depth of education as Wellington College.Wellington College was founded by Queen Victoria in 1859 as the national monument to Britain\'s greatest military figure, the Duke of Wellington, who also served the country with distinction twice as Prime Minister. Centrally located on a newly purpose-built campus in the city of Shanghai, the College will boast impressive facilities designed in the distinctive classical style of Wellington College, including fully equipped interactive classrooms, a library, an indoor gymnasium, a sports field, a swimming pool and a state-of-the-art 500 seat theatre. The College will cater for children aged from 3 to 18, with a dedicated nursery block housing the younger students on the same site.
