Job Opening;\"Office Person\"(Pudong Area)
DPSS Lasers Inc. is a United States laser manufacturing company located in Santa Clara, California (www.DPSS-Lasers.com). DPSS has a small office in the Pudong area to be utilized by DPSS United States employees when visiting China. The US employees will demonstrate and service our products for Chinese customers. A DPSS United States engineer will visit the Pudong office every 4 weeks, for a week. DPSS wants to hire a friendly, highly dependable, dedicated \"Office Person\" to be at the Pudong office full time to coordinate all China activities of the office, between DPSS and our Chinese customers.
This job is rather unstructured. The \"Office Person\"will be at the Pudong office everyday, by themselves, with only occasional transactions. Every 4 weeks, a DPSS engineer will schedule a one week trip to Shanghai. DPSS will notify our China customers of the visit, and if they have lasers that need to be serviced, they would ship them to the Pudong office prior to the DPSS arrival. The \"Office person\" would be receiving boxes/crates with DPSS lasers. The volume of deliveries/shipments may be very low, 1 to 5 lasers. During the week that the DPSS engineer is in China, the \"Office person\" would need to work mostly as a host/translator. After lasers are serviced, they would be boxed up, and then the \"Office person\" would ship them back to the customers, notifying the customers with the shipment information. During the DPSS engineer\'s time in Shanghai, the \"Office Person\" should be available to show the person around Shanghai for any customer visits, sightseeing, meals, transportation, etc. If the DPSS engineer needs to travel to other customers in China, then, depending on the situation, the \"Office Person\" would make the travel arrangements and even potentially travel with the engineer to these customers, as a translator. Our customers are currently in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing, Wuhan, Xian, and Xiamen. Once the engineer returns to the United States and all the lasers have been returned to the customer, then the \"quiet\" time would start again. DPSS would assign some work on internet searches for the \"Office Person\" that might help DPSS, such as finding new Chinese material vendors for DPSS. No money or invoices would ever change hands between the Pudong office and our customers. The \"Office Person\" would be paid a full time rate through an official placement organization in Shanghai.
