trelleborg in china. since 2005, the trelleborg group has increased its number of production units in china from one 50-percent share in a unit to five wholly owned units.
in september 2009, the group inaugurated a facility to manufacture products for infrastructure projects, including fender systems for harbors and dredging hoses. the unit is located in qingdao on the east coast of china and will initially employ about 100 persons. trelleborg also has two production units in the shanghai region and two in the wuxi region.
sales in china have increased from about sek 190 m in 2005 to about sek 650 m in 2009. sales in 2009 increased by about 30 percent compared with 2008. trelleborg has approximately 850 employees in china.
