恒顺企业是一个拥有166年历史的\"中华老字号\"（中国商务部2006年11月命名）。公司始创于1840年，是镇江香醋的发源地、中国规模最大的食醋生产企业、国家农业产业化重点龙头企业、中国食醋业首家上市公司。公司主要生产香醋，酱油，酱菜和色酒等近200个品种的系列调味品，已通过ISO9001国际质量体系认证和HACCP食品安全管理体系认证。
恒顺产品畅销全国和世界48个国家及地区，供应我国驻160个国家的200多个使（领）馆。镇江恒顺香醋采用传统的固态分层发酵工艺，这套独特的酿醋工艺2006年被列国家级非物质文化遗产名录。采用优质的糯米原料，要经过制酒、制醅、淋醋三大过程、大小40多道工序，大约60多天时间，此后还需2年以上的时间贮存，独具\"酸而不涩，香而微甜，色浓味鲜，愈存愈醇\"的特色。由于其风味独特，营养丰富，自古以来一直作为保健和调味的上好材料而誉满中外，《本草纲目》载：醋可\"消肿痛、杀邪毒、理诸药\"，中医药有许多醋疗偏方，民间也多采用香醋来防病治病、健体强身。
恒顺50万吨香醋项目位于镇江市丹徒生态工业园区，现在已经被列为镇江市\"十一五\"期间重点推进的大项目之一。该项目分两期建设：一期工程占地25万平方米，计划于2007年年底投产，建成后恒顺香醋的年生产能力将增至20万吨，恒顺香醋国内市场占有率将会从现有的4%提升至10%左右，确保在全国同行业的领先地位。在此基础上，再行建设年产30万吨香醋的二期工程，力争在\"十一五\"期末形成投资规模超亿美元、年产五十万吨食醋及其系列产品生产能力，国内市场占有率达到20%以上。
Hengshun enterprise is a \"China Time-honored Brand\" (awarded by Ministry of Commerce in November 2006) has a history of 166 years. As the founder of Zhenjiang Fragrant Vinegar dating back to the year 1840, Jiangsu Hengshun Vinegar Industry Co.,Ltd is crowned the biggest edible vinegar producing factory in China, the national-level key leading enterprise of agricultural industrialization, and the first edible vinegar manufacturer to be listed on the Stock Exchange in China. Its main products are fragrant vinegar, soya sauce, pickles, wine and nearly 200 other series of seasoning products that have all passed the ISO9001 International Quality System Authentication and the HACCP Food Safety Management System Authentication.
Hengshun products are widely received all over the country as well as in other 48 countries and regions. They are served in over 200 Chinese embassies (consulates) in 160 countries. The method to produce Zhenjiang Hengshun Fragrant vinegar is a traditional solid-state stratifying fermentation technique, which has been classified as the Intangible Cultural Heritage in China in the year of 2006. This complex technique is time consuming and made up of numerous procedures. Using superb quality glutinous rice as raw material, vinegar production includes three major processes of alcohol fermentation, vinegar fermentation and vinegar extraction. The entire production involves more than 40 procedures and takes more than 60 days to complete. Only after another two years\' of storage can the vinegar gets the distinctive flavor of \"sour but not bitter, fragrant and sweet, and the longer reservation, the better flavor in vintage\". Its special taste and nutritiousness earn it a reputation as the superb material for health care and seasoning. According to \"Compendium of Materia Medica\" (a book on Chinese medicine), vinegar is frequently used as painkiller, toxin curer and the ingredient for producing medicine. Thus, it is a common practice in China to take vinegar as a kind of Chinese medicine against diseases.
This project of Hengshun Fragrant Vinegar of 500,000 Tons is one of ten major projects of Zhenjiang during the period of the 11th Five-year Plan. It is located in Zhenjiang Dantu Biological Industrial Park. The construction involves two phases: the initial construction covers an area of 250,000 m2 will be completed by the end of 2007. The annual production capacity of Hengshun Fragrant Vinegar will increase to 200,000 Tons after its completion and the percentage of market share will increase to about 10% from 4% to maintain its nationwide leading status in the trade of vinegar production. The second phase of construction will be carried out to realize a total annual production capacity of 500,000 Tons. The total investment is estimated to be over one billion RMB. By then, the percentage of market share will reach up to 20% in the later period of the 11th Five-year Plan.
